1st Halloween Party

Gabriel came with me today to the PTA Halloween Party at Leah's school. Louis spent the evening with his grandparents. This was my second year co-chairing the party. I think it was successful. The kids had fun. Not much more I can ask for.

We wore coordinating costumes. Gabriel wore Leah's 1st Halloween clown costume.

Happy 3 Months!

1/4 of the year down and only 9 months to go till his first birthday.

Gabriel at 3 months is completely different from how Leah and Louis were at 3 months. There are some similarities as well but I noticed the differences more. I think partly due to the fact that it wasn't that long ago that Louis was 3 months old so it's easy to remember.

3 Month Milestones

Most babies should be able to . . .
  • Hold up head at 45 degree angle while on stomach

  • Hold head steady when upright

  • Laugh and smile

  • Recognize your face

  • Open and shut hands

  • Kick legs - Gabriel LOVES to kick his legs. All day, all night.

Some babies will probably be able to . . .

  • Recognize your voice

  • Hold up head at 90 degree angle while on stomach

  • Bring both hands together

  • Squeal and coo in delight

  • Do small mini pushups

Some babies could possibly be able to . . .

  • Bear weight on both legs - He has started to bear weight when I stand him up. Though it's pretty obvious he does not care for it.

  • Bat at toys - He bats at the mobile on his swing.

  • Reach for toys and objects - not quite

  • Roll over - he is almost there

  • Turn to familiar voices - pretty much turns to everyone in the family when he hears them. Often times Leah & Louis's voices alone will wake him up from his naps.

  • Make a razzing sound

Best Boys

Louis picked out matching outfits.

Swinging Away

Our friend Jen lent us her swing, My Little Lamb Cradle 'n Swing by Fisher Price. Gabriel has taken to napping in it for about 20 minute intervals every so often. He seems to enjoy the side to side motion the best. The swing itself is versatile. It can be moved to face two other directions and also swing backwards/forwards as well. The mobile above can be turned on, along with various musical choices. The cradle itself has two positions. There is also a bar that attaches to the swing when the baby is a bit older and interested in it as he sits up. The swing does not have an adapter and runs on batteries but so far the batteries have been lasting. Then again I don't use the swing all day long, so that may why.

Babywearing Fall Festival Fun

We headed out to White Post Farms today for their Annual Fall Festival.

I don't know what being out with the three kids would be like if I didn't wear them. Life is so much easier. Chasing a toddler, keeping an eye on a school age child and still caring comfortably for a newborn all at once? Perfect.

Started the day with Gabriel sleeping in the ERGObaby carrier. Gabriel slept in it for the first hour or so.

Moved onto the Hotsling when feeding time was approaching. Gabriel will soon outgrow eating while in this sling but for now it works perfectly for us while walking around. I took a break & sat down while Leah and Louis played in the hay area.

Gave the stroller a try but he wasn't buying it. We've had this Graco since Leah. That is 7+ years and I refuse to buy anything else. Sure I could've gotten a really nice suped up double stroller but it would've been a waste. I use our stroller for less baby usage, more carrying stuff around. Also as a portable changing table. So this stroller right here? Perfect for the job.

For the last hour or so after Gabriel ate I wore him in the newest addition to my babywearing collection, a Baby Ette Gauze Wrap. I couldn't possibly list all the reasons why I love this wrap so much. It's comfortable, easy to manage, sturdy and absolutely beautiful. Well made product that I wish I had known about back when I had Leah and Louis. Though Louis benefits from it as well since it is perfect for wearing him on my back. Even at 30 lbs I can comfortably wear him for a decent period of time.

Summer in Autumn

The Autumn weather has been unseasonably warm the past few days. We've tried to take advantage of this and spend as much time outside as possible. Louis loves to sit out in the driveway and draw with chalk or play with his toys. Today Gabriel spent the time sitting in his seat watching as Louis played. This was post bath time and I didn't brush Gabriel's hair down right after his bath so his hair dried sticking up.

Born to be a Giants Fan

I am not a sports fan. I can enjoy attending a sports game and will attempt to enjoy a game on tv but it really isn't my thing. I like playing sports but being a spectator has never been of much interest to me. That being said, Matt does love sports. He enjoys watching them when he can. He is a Giants fan so I've taken to picking things up for the kids when I come across them. This onesie was Louis's and now Gabriel's.

Mommy's Gift

Once I made up my mind about where I was going to plan to give birth I went out and bought this onesie for after the baby was born. It was my way of solidifying what I wanted to happen. I've been waiting for Gabriel to grow into a bit but his growth has been entirely different from Leah & Louis's so I just went ahead and put it on him today. A lil big but still perfect.
