We weren't sure what rides Gabriel would be able to go on. As a walking baby but not quite a toddler he met some requirements but not others. He isn't really a handheld infant as he does walk independently but he isn't the size of most kids who do the same thing. Fortunately there were still plenty of options for him. Eventually we did do a few rides together. He wasn't really into them so we stuck to the water sprinklers.
On the first day when we got there we decided to do the dry rides first because we had Dine with Elmo & Friends lunch reservations. Gabriel enjoyed playing while Leah, Louis and Matt went on the rides together. It was hot and humid so being out of the sun was nice.
The characters were great to see. They feel out kids right away and if the child isn't crazy about having them around they move away and wave from afar. Gabriel? Was all over them as soon as he saw them. He was really excited about seeing Cookie Monster.
After lunch it was raining so we headed to one of the shows, Elmo's World. It was fun and all the kids had a great time. It was still pouring when we got out of the show so we hung out in one of the shops for a while. They had a story time with Cookie Monster. Afterward the park was pretty empty as many people headed out due to the rain. We switched the kids into their swimwear and headed out for some of the water fun.
Then the rain came back so we just hung out in the torrential downpour waiting it out. The kids ran around and had a good time in the rain. We saw another show, Elmo Rocks! I think this is by far one of the best shows at Sesame Place. A must see. It was a lot of fun.
Finally! When we got out the rides were open again so the kids hit up the rest of the water play areas.
The trip ended up being really nice. Sesame Place is less than 3 hours from home so we'll definitely be back again. All three of the kids had a great time, even Leah. Gabriel had a blast and due to all the rain we had? Sesame Place gave us more tickets to come back another day! Thanks to their Sunny Day Guarantee. I think we'll head back for Halloween.
